The new Sacrament Tower and Tabernacle in the south transept was designed by Norbert and Victoria Koehn. The tabernacle is made of wood, gold-leafed with 100 semi-precious stones. The four sides of the Tabernacle depit Eucharistic images from Sacred Scripture and the life of the Church. |

The scene on the front door is the Emmaus scene from the New Testament where Christ appears to two disciples on the road to Emmaus after the resurrection, and breaks bread with them. Clockwise the next scene is from the Old Testament, depictinc the Israelites wandering in the desert who were fed by manna from above on their journey. The back panel is of the Lamb in the heavenly kingdom. The fourth panel is a scene from the Eucharist used in the lie of the church in the sacrament of Viatecum, when the Eucharist is given to a person on his or her deathbed symbolizing food for the journey home to God. |
